About a month ago we went camping in Parque Nacional La Campana, about a 150 km northwest of Santiago. It's well known around here because when Darwin visited about 170 years ago he described it as the most beautiful spot in Chile - when you're on top of the park's tallest mountain, if it's a clear day you have a great view of the Pacific Ocean to the west and the snow-peaked Andes cordillera to the east.
We were lucky enough to be there on a great day, and had the bonus of also seeing some foxes (zoros) and condors at the top.
Claire had the opportunity to take a group of students down to Patagonia for the week before Thanksgiving, and she had an incredible time. Here are some photos from the mountains and glaciers:
Trying to make up for the fact that I wasn't in Patagonia, I spent some time in Santuario de la Naturaleza Yerba Loca.
Our school celebrated Thanksgiving with a half-day, followed by some American football and then a pot-luck. We both stuffed ourselves with turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin pie before getting home to skype with family (we miss you!).
